What is Sporting Clays?
Sporting clays is a form of clay pigeon shooting that simulates the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. It is often described as "golf with a shotgun" because a typical course includes from 10 to 15 different shooting stations laid out over natural terrain. Participants shoot at clay targets that are released from a variety of traps. The game is designed to simulate field shooting, and shooters are presented with a wide variety of targets. A typical round is 100 targets.
What is 5-Stand?
Five stand is a type of shotgun sport shooting that combines the core aspects of skeet, sporting clays and trap shooting. The game is set up with five stations and six to eighteen strategically placed clay target throwers.
A typical round of five-stand involves shooting five targets at all five shooting stations, requiring a box of 25 shells to complete the round

Why the name: The Lost Dutchman?
It is based on the legend of the Lost Dutchman who had a gold mine where he turned in $350,000 in gold in the 1800's (documented by the US government) and it was so pure it did not need to be smelted. The mine believed to be a mine originally found by Mexicans, who then left the area when Mexico lost the war to the United States. No one has ever found the mine or the gold since the death of the Dutchman. Many have died under mysterious circumstances trying.
